Are you itching to bake some goods and sip some warm drinks? I can not believe it is that time of year, but here it is! First on my list, was to whip up some healthy Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins with the sprouted whole wheat flour I have on hand. Pumpkin has to be one of my favorite “healthy” additions to baked goods! I love the moisture it adds to recipes. What is your favorite added ingredient?
Have you noticed a lack of frozen berries in the grocery aisle lastly? I don’t know about you, but here in Kansas, we have had little to choose from! Frozen berries for making a homemade smoothie, etc. must be a hot item! It’s been so muggy here, hopefully many are making good use of their blenders! I was able to purchase a VERY large 64 ounce of frozen strawberries last week. So making some new smoothie recipes was a must!
My 4 year-old daughter ran up to me today and said, “Mommy, you’re famous!” I replied, “Why am I famous?” “You found my critter bunny when you were cleaning the toy room!” I thought it was so cute that she thought I was famous! I am deep cleaning the toy room this week as 4 of our kiddos are at camp, because my 6 month old is beginning to roll, scoot, and make his way across the floor…..no more little tiny toys in the toy room!
It has been very hot and muggy here in Kansas! I have drank more water in the last two weeks, than I have all year long….which is a bit behind my water intake, since I am 5 weeks postpartum! My mid-wife would love me drinking this much water while I continue to nurse my little buddy! Anyway, this Sugar-Free Lemon Berry Slush hit this spot as I was dreaming up something cold one afternoon!
