It has been very hot and muggy here in Kansas! I have drank more water in the last two weeks, than I have all year long….which is a bit behind my water intake, since I am 5 weeks postpartum! My mid-wife would love me drinking this much water while I continue to nurse my little buddy! Anyway, this Sugar-Free Lemon Berry Slush hit this spot as I was dreaming up something cold one afternoon!

It is so tempting to buy a snow cone or ice cream cone while I am in town picking up groceries….but then I remember the sugar I just don’t want to consume! I love thinking of fun cold drinks, smoothies and slushies that are not only tasty but healthy too! Please comment below and tell me what your favorite summer drink choice tends to be! Remember the little Slush Puppie icee makers from when your were a kid? I remember looking at those machine and wishing my mom would get me an icee! Well, those were full of sugar and who cares when you are a kid, but now I can make ones with real fruit and awesome natural sweeteners! My favorite sweetener is Trim Healthy Mama Gentle Sweet or my own Gentle Sweet recipe.

Sugar-Free Lemon Berry Slush

Cool off with a healthy drink! This recipe is SO fast and easy and most importantly so tasty!

  • Blender
  • Glass
  • Straw (optional!)


  • 1 cup Great Value Berries
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 tbsp Gentle Sweet or Truvia *make sure Truvia is sugar-free
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Ice


  • Put all the ingredients into a blender, blend well until smooth. May need to stir on occasion to break up the ice. Pour slush into cup and add straw! Enjoy!

I never thought about adding lemon juice to my blended drinks before. This is a great way to cool down on a hot day. Caution: enjoy slowly as it may take you from the equator to the artic circle with a brain freeze if you’re not careful! I didn’t have any of the listed sweeteners on hand, so I used 2 tbsp of coconut cream. It is still delicious!
