Beat the Heat

Have you noticed a lack of frozen berries in the grocery aisle lastly? I don’t know about you, but here in Kansas, we have had little to choose from! Frozen berries for making a homemade smoothie, etc. must be a hot item! It’s been so muggy here, hopefully many are making good use of their blenders! I was able to purchase a VERY large 64 ounce of frozen strawberries last week. So making some new smoothie recipes was a must!

Add a little tang!

Lemon juice has been my little “go-to” addition lately! It is my 0 carb taste boost! =) I put 2 Tablespoons in my recipe, but you could defiantly go with less! It gives the strawberry mixture a nice tangy taste that I love!

Super Sweet

If you are familiar with Trim Healthy Mama products, then you have most likely heard of the THM Super Sweet Blend natural sweetener! This is a more cost effective sweetener, since you don’t have to use as much in your drinks, desserts and smoothies! I will have to admit that the THM Gentle Sweet is a bit more forgiving, but if you are watching your pennies, the THM Super Sweet Blend is the cheaper option!

Let’s not waste any more time and make this super creamy, delicious beverage! Here is the recipe! If you can find more frozen fruit at your local stores, I’m sure you can change it up a bit! This would also be a great snack or breakfast! I like to use Swanson Original Whey Protein Powder or you can use Trim Healthy Mama Pristine Whey Protein Powder.

The extra boost of protein in this smoothie will get you going in the mornings or give you that kick to finish your afternoon!

Tangy Strawberries and Cream Smoothie

2 Cups of FROZEN strawberries, 1 tsp Lemon Juice, 1 Tbsp of Trim Healthy Mama Super Sweet, 1 Tbsp Cream, 1/2 Scoop of Whey Protein Powder, 1 tsp Baobab (optional) Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until very smooth! Squirt a dollop of whip topping on top if you like! Only 150 cal! 10 g carbs, 5 g fat, 0 g sugar! So qualifies as a fuel pull–if NO extra whipped topping. Baobab adds an additional 2 carbs, if using.

An even QUICKER snack!

If you are in a HUGE hurry and need a yummy-delicious snack on the run, try a cup of frozen berries–slightly defrosted, a sprinkle of Trim Healthy Mama Gentle Sweet or Swerve and a dollop of whipped topping! I love this simple, easy treat and it keeps me from grabbing some unhealthy quick snack!
